Services for Lyle Krueger, 96, of Conde will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 29 at Westside Wesleyan Church in Bristol. Rev. Lynn Lutz will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Aberdeen under the direction of Paetznick-Garness Funeral Chapel, Groton.
Visitation will be held at the chapel on Tuesday from 5-7 p.m.
Lyle passed away July 24, 2026 at Avantara Groton.
Lyle Frederick Krueger was born on June 23, 1930 to Fred and Ann (Fadness) Krueger in Aberdeen, South Dakota. He attended country school in Garden Prairie Township, graduated from Stratford High School in 1947 and from Augustana College in 1951. He later took graduate courses at Northern State University.
Lyle and Lois Siefken were married on August 15, 1954 and were blessed with one son and three daughters.
Along with farming Lyle taught school at Butler, SD for six years and in Conde High School for 10 years. After retiring he continued to be active on the farm assisting his son Scott.
Lyle loved to read and learn. He enjoyed the daily newspapers, books on all subjects, his collection of Louis L’Amour books and he read the Holy Bible through several times. He taught the Adult Bible Class at his church for fifty years. He was an active member of the Westside Wesleyan Church in Bristol, SD.
Besides farming and teaching he enjoyed hunting, fishing, travelling and attending his grandsons’ sporting events. He enjoyed people of all ages and knew no strangers.
Lyle is survived by his wife of nearly 72 years, son Scott of Groton, SD, three daughters: Dawn (Tim) Purcell of Ottawa, Kansas, Marla (John) Beineke of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and Sara (Mark) Moore of Ottawa, Kansas. Also surviving are his 11 grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren. He is survived by one sister YeVonne Siefken, brothers-in-law Arlo Siefken and Loren (Pat) Siefken, sister-inlaw Arlene Krueger and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Leon Krueger, daughter-in-law Cindy Krueger and brother-inlaw Merlin Siefken.
