Lois Diann Zimmermann (Stianson), age 82, of Champlin, MN, died August 19, 2025.
A smart, headstrong farm girl from Roslyn, South Dakota, Lois left the prairie for Minneapolis at 19. She fell in love with Jerry Zimmermann, a non-Norwegian Minnesota boy, and married him in October 1964, the start of a long and amazing partnership. An irrepressible extrovert and extraordinary friend, Lois continued to make new and dear friends in every decade of her life.
Lois leaves behind a family whose hearts are full of gratitude for every moment they had with her: husband, Jerry; daughters, Kris Causton and Laura Zimmermann; sons-in-law, Jeff Causton and Lee Zukor; grandchildren, Eli, Petra, Davie, and Ammi, each and every one of whom was her favorite; sister, Carol Michlitsch; sister-in-law, Judy Zimmermann; and nieces, nephews, and her many Storley and Stianson cousins, who remained close to her throughout her life.
A Celebration of Lois was held on September 6, at Excelsior Covenant Church, in Excelsior, MN. Memorials have been sent to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (www.bcrf.org) and North Memorial Hospice Program (www. northmemorial.com/donate).
