Leon Amdahl, 75, Woonsocket, died Feb. 18, 2025 at Avera Weskota Memorial Hospital.
Celebration of life is Feb. 24, 11 a.m. at the 4-H building in Forestburg.
Leon “Lee” Merle Amdahl was born March 7, 1949 at Peabody Hospital, Webster to Dale and Jeanette (Hjellming) Amdahl. He attended school until the eighth grade and began working various jobs throughout the state. He joined the U.S. Army in 1968, served in Vietnam and received his GED.
He married Della Bessey May 10, 1975. They lived north of Woonsocket, raising hay, cattle and horses. He enjoyed working, driving truck and story telling.
Survivors include his wife; daughter, Bobbi Jo and Monty Williams; four grandchildren; sister, Shelley and Arlo Anderson; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jerry in infancy, Gary, Les, Kevin and Terry Amdahl; sisters, Sharon Snell and Linda Bauman; parents-in-law, Lloyd and Wolina (Weaver) Bessey.
