Karen Kambestad Boghosian

Karen, a woman of warmth and intellect, was born in Illinois. After graduating with honors from Douglas High School, she went on to earn her degree in Science of Recreation Management and Business Administration from the University of Northern Colorado. Her love of history and family led her to become the family historian, connecting with relatives all over the world. She never forgot a single birthday or anniversary or holiday.

Her younger years were filled with adventure, traveling with her family to South Dakota, Minneapolis, New York and getting to explore all around Europe. Later in life, she returned to Illinois, where she met and married her husband, George. They spent 24 loving years together living in Delaware.

To her family, Karen was a pillar of love: a cherished daughter to Iris, a sister to Debra and Michael Sr. (passed). She was the best aunt ever to Chauncy, Shanelle, Tiffanne, Amber and Christina and Michael Jr. She loved her Aunt Esther and all her cousins. She was also a treasured friend to many. She welcomed everyone with a great big “hello,” and a warming smile, with the best laugh you’ve ever heard! She was the type of person who always put others first and loved with her whole heart. Karen will be truly missed by so many. God bless you our sweet angel now in heaven. XOXO Karen was born June 19, 1954 to Wallace and Iris (Noble) Kambestad.
