John Gollnick

John Gollnick, 73, Webster died July 24, 2025 at Sun Dial Manor, Bristol.

Mass of Christian burial was July 28 at Christ the King Catholic Church, Webster. Interment was at St. Otto’s Catholic Cemetery near Webster.

John Anthony Gollnick was born Aug. 3, 1951, to Francis and Dolores (Bierschbach) Gollnick in Webster. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Otto’s Catholic Church, Webster, where he also attended St. Otto’s Parochial School. He graduated from Webster High School in 1970, where he was active in football, wrestling, FFA and 4-H.

He married Lana Hoberg Dec. 15, 1973, at Christ the King Catholic Church. Webster. They farmed northwest of Webster. He raised chickens, hogs, cattle and crops. In 1986, his brother joined the operation.

He enjoyed summer Sundays at the lake with his family. He supported his children’s and grandchildren’s activities, attending sporting events or helping with 4-H livestock projects. He enjoyed annual fishing trips to Canada and frequent visits to his favorite local “honey hole,” where he enjoyed both open-water and ice fishing. He enjoyed camping with family and traveling with Lana to Alaska, the Bahamas, Florida and the Black Hills. He especially valued Saturday morning coffee with friends at the cabin. In 2007, they built a new home north of Webster on Hwy. 25. He retired from farming in 2022. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, where he was an usher and a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters. He also served on Webster Township board and Pierpont Cenex board of directors.

Survivors include his wife, Webster; their children, Daren and Melanie Gollnick, Kara and Brian Zaug, Amy and JaDee Dwight; five grandchildren; brother, Mike and Karlene Gollnick; sister, Dianne and Pete Haugen; brother-in-law, Gary Wik; many nieces, nephews and step-mother, Helen Gollnick, Watertown and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Kenny Gollnick and sister, Donna Wik.
