Gwendolyn Biever, 92, died May 22, 2025.
Funeral services were May 27 at Big Stone Tabor Church, Big Stone City with Pastor Sandra Marquardt officiating. Burial was at Milbank City Cemetery, Milbank.
Gwendolyn “Gwen” Wein was born Aug. 20, 1932. She grew up on a farm near Butler and became a nurse.
She enjoyed church activities and served as a school board member, state Future Nurses of America Director and many other volunteer services. She enjoyed hosting friends and family at their Blue Dog Lake cabin. She enjoyed music, playing the clarinet and keyboard, singing in the choir and attending concerts.
Survivors include her husband, Gene; daughter, Jan; stepsons, Chad and Julie, Bryan and Jody; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Adolph and Rose Wein; son, Billy “Bill” Markve; four siblings, Billy Wein, Calvin Wein, Coleen Gast and Larry Wein.
