D. Angeline Amundson, 96, Willmar, MN died June 21, 2024, at Compassionate Cottage Assisted Living, Willmar.

Funeral services were June 28 at American Lutheran Church, Webster. Interment was at Webster Cemetery.

Dorothy Angeline ‘Angie’ Amundson was born April 15, 1928, in rural Butler to Oden and Clara (Stadsklev) Ausland. She was baptized at Bethany Lutheran Church near Butler and confirmed at Lily Lutheran Church, Lily. She attended school in Lily and graduated from high school in 1945. She attended Northern State University while teaching at country schools. She graduated from Augustana College, Sioux Falls in 1952. She taught for one year in Hinckley, MN and then in Bristol.

She married Kenny Amundson Aug. 21, 1954 at Lily Lutheran Church. They lived on a farm near Webster. She taught school for one year. She returned to teaching in 1973 in Roslyn and taught for 15 years. She was advisor for declam and the school newspaper “The Viking,” which won awards at the annual press convention in Brookings. They enjoyed 14 winters at Alamo, TX, traveling around the U.S. and spending time at their Pickerel Lake cabin. They moved to Webster in 1995 and to Heritage Village in 2014. In June 2021, she moved to an assisted living facility in New London, MN and later to Compassionate Cottage, Willmar.

She was a member of American Lutheran Church since 1954 where she taught Sunday School and was involved in Bible study, circle and ladies aid. She was a 4-H leader and enjoyed reading, cross stitch and embroidery.

Survivors include one son, Lonnie and Nikki Amundson, Webster; two daughters, Sandy and Kevin Hanson, Kristi and Scott Glup, Willmar; son-in-law, Jeff Biever, Holland, MN; nine grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; one sister, Carol and Don Evenson, Brookings; sister-in-law, Frances Swain, Shakopee, MN; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers; one daughter, Lori Biever and one grandson.
