Barbara Tchida, 90, Webster, died Jan. 18, 2025 at Sanford Hospital, Webster.
Scriptural prayer service was Jan. 23 at Fiksdal Funeral Service, Webster and was livestreamed. Burial was at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery near Lake City.
Barbara “Barb” June Livingston was born June 1, 1934, to Howard and Rachel (Wilkenson) Livingston. She graduated from Britton High School in 1952 and worked as a candy- striper at Britton Hospital.
She married Leonard Tchida Nov. 18, 1952. She worked as a nurse’s aide, serving hospitals in Britton, Sisseton, and Webster for over 50 years. She retired in 2005.
She enjoyed family gatherings, fishing and welcoming new babies into the family.
Survivors include her children, Ronald and Karen, Becky and Dwight, Leonard Jr. and Marie, Monica and Ron, Robert and Val, Lindie and Adam; adopted daughter, Brenda Hamann; 15 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Judy, Richard and Cathi, Douglas and Sherry, Samuel and Colleen; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; son, Bruce; daughters, Lisa Ann and Ann Marie; daughter-inlaw, Karen; three infant granddaughters, four brothers and two sisters.
