Judith Lynn Murschel Sivula

Judith Lynn Murschel Sivula, age 76, passed away peacefully at home in Blaine, MN. on September 8, 2026.

Judy worked in the banking world at First Star Bank and Bremer Bank for over 20 years in different departments and then was hired at DieCraft company as a HR manager and was great accountant for about 10 plus years. Then she retired after some medical issues to enjoy her 35 plus years with the love of her life Doug. Judy’s hobbies were her big flower and plant beds. She loved watching all the birds, ducks, rabbits, squirrels and a couple of deer occasionally would stroll by. She loved her many bird feeders and wind chimes in the backyard. She loved her house, it always was spotless and everything had its place right up to the end. Doug and Judy did lots of traveling over the years, from visiting many casinos, to going on the beaches of Aruba to Mazatlan and many more beautiful places along the way. They also enjoyed sailing the high seas and the Great Lakes to boating on Lake Minnetonka. In the winter they enjoyed many snowmobile trips. As they grew older with age they ran away from the cold and snow with their fur babies Bandit, Gizmo and Casper to go south for the winters. She loved to decorate the house for Christmas before they headed south, that was her favorite holiday of the year. She loved to wrap and watch people open their presents with more excitement than the people who got them “even though she knew what they were.” She always said she wanted to pass pain free, peaceful and at home and she got her wish on all three.

She was an amazing partner to Doug Hedquist, sister to Terry (Cindy) Murschel of Spring Lake Park, MN; mother to Dan Sivula of Ham Lake, MN and Jeremy Sivula (Dixie Sarna) of Pillager, MN; grandsons Cole (Jeanna) Sivula, Duluth, MN; Ryan (Hope) Sivula with great-grandson Daniel Sivula of Isanti, MN.

Judy is preceded in death by her parents Rudolph “Rudy” and Frances “Fran” Murschel Kwasniewski along with brother Allen Murschel and sister Betty Bernu.
