Lorrie A. Knebel, age 68, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 5, 2026, at St. Martin’s Lutheran Church in Watertown. Rev. Paul Kuckhahn will officiate.
Visitation will be at the Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown on Thursday from 5-7 p.m. and prior to services at the church on Friday.
Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Watertown.
Lorrie was born on March 15, 1958, to Arlo and Mae Meseberg. Lorrie attended school in Watertown, graduating from both Watertown High School and Lake Area.
Music was an important part of Lorrie’s life. From a very young age, she played in country music bands, often performing alongside her brother Doug and other musicians throughout rural communities.
On September 2, 1978, Lorrie married the love of her life, Neil Knebel. Together they built a loving home and shared many years devoted to their children, Adam, Jon, and Ashley.
Lorrie worked forty years as a Respiratory Therapist, beginning at Memorial Hospital and later serving faithfully at Prairie Lakes Hospital until retirement. She was known for her caring spirit and dedication. Even after Lorrie retired from Prairie Lakes Hospital, she remained faithful to helping people by volunteering at PLH and the Cancer Center.
Family was the center of Lorrie’s life. She took great pride in raising her family and treasured time spent with loved ones. She enjoyed gardening, loom knitting, volunteering at PLH and the Cancer Center following retirement, and was a longtime member of St. Martin’s Church.
Lorrie is survived by her husband of 47 years, Neil Knebel, her children: Adam (Becky) Knebel of Plymouth, MN; Jon Knebel of Watertown, SD and Ashley (Wade) Anderson of Summerset, SD; her grandchildren Jackson Anderson, of Rapid City, SD; Layla and Zoey Anderson of Summerset, SD; and Brandon and Sydney Knebel of Plymouth, MN; her brothers Doug Meseberg, Daniel (Rita) Meseberg David (Connie) Meseberg, and Dallas Meseberg.
Lorrie was preceded in death by her parents, Arlo and Mae Meseberg; her nephew Nathanial Meseberg and sister-inlaw Aniva Meseberg.
