Alfred (Fred) J. Miotke, 75, Pickerel Lake, died March 24, 2026.

Alfred (Fred) J. Miotke was born Oct. 22, 1950 to Matilda and Alfred F. Miotke. He lived his entire life at the Miotke family homestead at Pickerel Lake. In 1970, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving in Okinawa and earning a National Defense Service Medal, before returning home. He was a carpenter and mason and his craftsmanship lives on throughout many homes and properties around Pickerel Lake. After retiring, he focused on hobbies such as hunting, fishing, gardening and hand-forging knives.
Survivors include two daughters, Tracy Nelson, Debbie Peltier and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; spouse, Carla (Hanks) Miotke.
