Local educator speaks to 1.4 percent increase in state funding for schools and the impact
South Dakota lawmakers approved the state’s education funding budget which included a 1.4 percent increase in funding over last year’s budget. On March 12 South Dakota lawmakers approved the state’s education funding budget which included a 1.4 percent increase in funding over last year’s budget which Webster Area superintendent Jim Block said he was grateful for because of the original proposed no-increase flat budget.
“When the initial proposal is zero percent, then obviously we feel favorable about anything above that,” he said.
