Delores Gronke, 84, Waubay, died Nov. 4, 2025, at Bethesda Home, Webster.
Mass of Christian Burial was Nov. 8, 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Waubay. Burial was at the church cemetery. Visitation was Nov. 7, 5-7 p.m. at Fiksdal Funeral Service, Webster.
Delores Frances Gaikowski was born Sept. 14, 1941, at Waubay to Joseph and Mary (Lewno) Gaikowski. She was baptized and confirmed at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She attended country school 206 near the family farm.
She married Ernest Gronke Sr. June 26, 1962 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Grenville. She worked alongside her husband with the farming operation, including milking cows and farming the land.
She enjoyed gardening, flowers, playing cards and bingo, but she especially enjoyed time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Ernest and Marilyn Gronke Jr., Randall Gronke, Waubay; Jodi and Dari Schlotte, Webster; nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law and five sisters-in-law.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and three sisters.
