    NESD Head Start volunteer Rick Buhler was presented the annual hometown hero award by Modern Woodmen chapter of Webster for his nearly 11 years of service to the childcare nonprofit.

    Buhler began volunteering in early 2015 after retiring a few years early. Under recommendation from his pastor in Groton, because of his love of children, he called the nonprofit with the intent to volunteer there dail…
