Caroline A. Hanson, 91, of Webster SD, died peacefully on Monday, August 11, 2025, at Sanford Hospital Webster. Funeral Service will be held at American Lutheran Church in Webster on Monday, August 18, 2025, beginning at 11a.m. Visitation will be held 1-hour prior.
Caroline Ann (Majeske) Hanson was born on March 2, 1934, in Winthrop, MN to William Majeske and Erna (Schutte) Majeske. She was baptized at Winthrop and attended grade school there until 1940, when the family moved to Webster. The family attended American Lutheran Church where Caroline was confirmed. She attended school at Webster High School and graduated in 1953.
She was united in marriage to Vernon Hanson on August 20, 1953, at the American Lutheran Church in Webster. The family made their home on a farm by Lily where they raised six children. Vernon retired from farming in 1984 they both moved to Webster and worked at Dakotah Inc. until the 1990s.
Caroline was a member of the American Lutheran Church. She enjoyed putting puzzles together and organizing pictures of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Most of all, her and Vernon loved spending time together following their children, grandchildren, and great- grandchildren’s events.
Caroline passed away surrounded by her loving children on Monday, August 11, in Webster, at the age of 91 years.
“Sweet” Caroline will be forever loved and missed by her children Steve (Jackie) Hanson of Mendota Heights, MN Vickie (Kirby) Phillips of Black Hawk, SD, Russ (Sue) Hanson of White Bear Lake, MN, Nancy (Larry) West of Langford, SD, Jeff (Joan) Hanson, Aberdeen, SD, and Scott (Jeanine) Hanson of Cottonwood, MN; 16 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; sister in-laws Donna Majeske, Sharon Majeske and Dorothy Syhre. She is preceded in death by her husband, Vernon; her parents, five siblings, one step-grandson and one great-grandson.
