Ryan Shepherd

Ryan Shepherd, 53, Webster, died July 10, 2025 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

Celebration of life was July 18 at Fiksdal Funeral Service. Minister Marion Grimes officiated.

Ryan Glen Shepherd Sr. was born Nov. 11, 1971 to Kenneth and Karen Shepherd, Webster. He attended school at Webster School District and acquired his GED in 1990. He worked as a cook at Strand-Kjorsvig Living Center. He did custom harvesting taking him to Texas and back. Over the years he worked at a salvage yard, a department store stocking shelves and driving trucks for a delivery service. He got his pilot’s license in 2001 after working for Quest Aviation. He worked for Lien Transportation for about 17 years.

He married Zina Russell in 2002 and they had three sons. They lived in Aberdeen and Mellette. They separated in 2008.

He moved to Webster in 2010 and worked for Webster Scale and C&S Conversions, Watertown. He started S.H.O.P.P./ Huggers Hot Rods on the family farm and took care of his mother.

He married Becky Bohnenkamp in 2014 in Bradley. They raised pigs, cows, sheep, goats, chickens, cats, dogs and horses.

He enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids and animals. He enjoyed helping people and teaching them needed skills. He was a handy man and enjoyed fixing things. He enjoyed cooking, riding motorcycles, snowmobiling, farming and working with metal. In his younger years, he spent many days riding motorcycle. He was a H.O.G. member and competed in the law enforcement torch run in 1996 as a member of Hand Gunners Association where he took first place for the charity pistol match for Special Olympics.

Survivors include his wife; sons, Doug and Elizabeth Bohnenkamp, Ryan Jr. and Rebecca Shepherd, Jerod Shepherd, Sean Shepherd; eight grandchildren; mother; sisters, Pam Dean, Rita Sattler; parents- in-law, Jim and Barb Bohnenkamp and Janice Kadoun; sistersin- law, Brenda and Scott Dauner, Kristina and Sam Brownell, Barb Schlecht, Julie and Beau Williams; brother-in-law, Dustin Kadoun; many nieces, nephews, cousins and relatives.

He was preceded in death by his father, uncles, aunts and grandparents.
