Ramona “Mona” Mikkelson, 91, Waubay died Feb. 23, 2025 at Bethesda Home, Webster.
Mass of Christian burial was Feb. 28 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Waubay. Burial will be at the Waubay Catholic Cemetery.
Margaret Ramona Weyh was born May 29, 1933, to Frank Sr. and Leona (Lauseng) Weyh on the family farm north of Waubay. She was baptized and confirmed at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Waubay. She attended country school at District #206 through the eighth grade and later obtained her GED. After her education, she worked at Bartron Office, Watertown.
In November 1955, she married Robert Breske. They lived north of Waubay. After Robert passed in 1973, she moved to Milbank, where she worked at Trevett’s Café.
In July 1975, she married Donald Mikkelson. They lived north of Waubay. She was a homemaker, worked on the farm and sold Avon. Don died in 2000 and in 2004, she moved into Waubay. She remained at her home until 2018, when failing health moved her to Bethesda Home, Webster.
She enjoyed gardening and flowers, spending time with her family, shopping, country drives and days at the lake. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the altar society.
Survivors include her sisters, Dorothy Dargatz, Sylvia Dargatz, Patty and Royce Birney; in laws, Carol Weyh, Ruth and Don Doyen, Marilyn Baumgarn, Dorothy Derringer, Herman Hansen, Virginia Breske, Sharon Breske; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands; siblings, Frank Jr. and Carol Weyh, Blanche Weyh and James Weyh Jr.; many brothers and sisters-in-law.
