It’s not with absolute certainty I say this, but my guess is one of the biggest fears of any business or organization leader has is that they’ll someday become irrelevant to their own operation. There’s a saying that goes, the scariest thing about stepping away when in leadership is you’ll either find your team can’t do it without you or you’ll find out they can.
