Larry Huwe

Larry Huwe, 87, Auburn, WA died July 28, 2024 at Auburn Multicare Hospital.

Celebration of Life will be Sept. 23, 1 p.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church, Auburn. Inurnment was Aug. 14 at Tahoma National Cemetery.

Larry Burdell Huwe was born Aug. 10, 1936 to Burton and Joyce (Kjosa) Huwe in Bristol. He grew up in Bristol and graduated from Bristol High School in 1954. He enlisted in the Army National Guard and went on active duty in the U.S. Army 1954-56 serving in Alaska. Using the GI Bill, he furthered his education in business management. After a brief stint as a merchant mariner sailing on the Great Lakes aboard an iron ore carrier, he returned to Bristol.

He married Patricia Olson Dec. 31, 1957. He worked in aerospace, retiring after 34 years.

They enjoyed camping and traveling throughout the United States, cruises to Alaska and the Panama Canal and visits to South Dakota at least once a year for 60 years to visit family and friends. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Auburn Eagles and American Legion Auburn Post 78, serving as post commander for two years.

Survivors include his wife; daughter Donna Huwe; son, Cory and Margaret Huwe; two grandsons; sister, Bonnie Dolney; many nieces and nephews.
