Hobert Bailey, 85, Bristol, died May 27, 2024 at Sun Dial Manor, Bristol.
Funeral service was May 30 at First Baptist Church, Webster. with Pastor Steve Hargis officiating.
Hobert Lee Bailey was born Jan. 9, 1939 in Princeton, WV. He was the son of Ezra and Ida (Hubbard) Bailey.
He married Bertha in 1992. They lived in Princeton where he worked for 33 years for West Virginia Highway Department until retiring. In 2016 they moved to South Dakota to be closer to family.
He was a member of Old State Road, Freewill Baptist Church until moving to Webster where he attended First Baptist Church. He enjoyed church potlucks and NASCAR, never missing a race. He enjoyed weekend visits to the local racetrack in Princeton.
Survivors include his wife, Bristol; two stepdaughters, Lea Wimmer, Groton; Vanessa and Russ Bethke, Bristol; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two stepsons, Ray Wimmer and Phillip Wimmer.
