Night lights dance across sky

  • This image of the aurora borealis, usually seen to the north, was taken facing due west on a rural county road south of Webster in the early morning hours of May 11. This particular show of lights was caused by a solar storm flare that hit earth, one of the largest in nearly 20 years with a KP level of 8+.
