Director unveils new hires, updates for ambulance service

Day County Ambulance Service Director Melissa Sackreiter presented new ambulance hires and call updates at the Day County Commissioners regular meeting Nov. 18. Sackreiter reported the new hires come in the form of two new drivers, a paramedic and a nurse.

Churches host events to feed community

Day County Ministerial Association is hosting two events this week at Tabor Lutheran and Westside Wesleyan. These churches are coming together to give the community free food for these events.

Lake Region Shrine Club makes large donation to children’s hospital

During the Shriners Children’s Twin Cities annual gala Oct. 25, which is a fundraising event held at the Minnesota Mall of America, Lake Region Shrine Club made a donation of $75,000 towards the children’s hospital.

City of Waubay looks to replace culverts after 20 years

Waubay resident Duane Gaikowski voiced his concern about the city’s plan to install new culverts on 1st Ave. during the council’s meeting Nov. 12. Gaikowski owns property near 1st Ave. and said he is concerned about the culverts pushing water onto his land.
