Thirty-two set to graduate from Webster Area High School

Pomp and Circumstance is playing and students are getting ready for the next stage in life. At Webster Area High School, 32 students are preparing to celebrate that next step this coming weekend.Webster Area seniors will graduate May 19 at 2 p.m. in Webster Armory.

Waubay High School prepares to graduate a class of four

Waubay seniors were set to graduate May 11 at 1:30 p.m. at the Waubay School Gymnasium. Waubay class of 2024 will be graduating with four members.Caleb Weyh was valedictorian while Evan Benike and Owen Niles were co-salutatorians.

Webster Area grad is now an award-winning prosecutor

Dylan Kirchmeier, state’s attorney for Roberts County, was recently named Prosecutor of the Year by the South Dakota State’s Attorneys Association. He was presented with the award at the association’s annual meeting in Deadwood May 2.

Commissioners consider nearly $90,000 request for toilets in jail

To replace one dozen toilets at the Day County Jail looks like it will cost taxpayers upwards of nearly $90,000.Day County Sheriff Jerred Schreur came before commissioners at their regular meeting May 7 to put in the request for replacing all the jail cell toilets at the facility.
