Recreational pot support cools, poll shows

Most South Dakotans oppose the latest attempt to legalize recreational marijuana in the state, according to a scientific poll of 500 registered voters co-sponsored by South Dakota News Watch.

Evil things versus Holy things

God created all things good as we read in the first book of Genesis. However, there was evil in the Garden of Eden referred to as the serpent. He was created as one of the most powerful angels, reflecting the image and likeness of God.

Little Free Libraries having an impact in Webster, beyond

Little Free Libraries have been springing up in Webster after the Webster Public Library applied for the Impact Library Grant, netting the library $10,000 to use for the installation of Little Free Libraries throughout the city.

Westside to host the Craguns in concert

Westside Wesleyan Church in Bristol will host the Craguns July 7 at 10:30 a.m. during the church’s normal worship time.The event is open for everyone and admission is free.

Holscher retires from clinic after 24 years, Dargatz set to take over

Brenda Holscher is set to retire from the Avera Medical Group in Waubay after a long career of serving the residents of Waubay and the surrounding area.Holscher has served the area at the clinic in Waubay for the past 24 years after graduating from Presentation College in Aberdeen in 1984.

Groundbreaking event for playground addition

Groundbreaking for Webster Area School playground took place June 18.Donors, teachers and volunteers gathered for the groundbreaking event. According to Craig Case, Webster Area elementary and middle school principal, this process began in fall 2023 when a playground committee was formed.
