As the James Valley Threshing Show took place in Andover Sept. 6-8, various events occurred including a parade which included old agricultural machines. Here, in preparation of the parade Sept. 7, Justin Cooper and his dog DaZee from Lennox use a Baker fan to get their 1926 Caterpillar Sixty tractor in optimal condition for the parade. State Historical Society offers property tax moratorium

PIERRE – South Dakota State Historical Society officials remind property owners that Nov. 1 is the deadline to apply for the State Property Tax Moratorium.This eight-year moratorium applies to restoration and rehabilitation work completed on historic properties during the calendar year 2024.
Webster Fire Department responded to a house fire late Sept. 9 at 1106 Main Street. The fire prompted sections of Main St. to be closed off for the fire trucks and ambulance to provide services. Waubay’s fire department was called in to assist Webster Fire and Rescue in extinguishing the blaze. Assistant Fire Chief Eric Kwasniewski declined for a comment on the situation as of Sept. 10. House fire under investigation, propane tank fire cause of second incident

Cause of a house fire in Webster last week remains under investigation.Multiple fire departments responded to a structure fire in the 1100 block of Main Street during the evening hours of Sept. 9.

Brock designed both the Shelby Daytona Cobra Coupe and the Corvette Sting Ray in the early stages of his career. Intrigued by the machinery on display Sept. 6-8 at the threshing show, Brock made the trip to the event from his residence in Nevada. KELOLAND LiveCam comes to Webster

Webster had a Live-Cam installed Sept. 10 which will be broadcast live on KELOLAND’s website. The camera is located on the northeast corner of the business center which overlooks Hwy. 12 and 25 intersection.
