Bristol man killed in fatal car crash

A Bristol man, Robert Ash, was killed in a single car crash in Roberts County near Sisseton Dec. 7 at approximately 3:26 p.m. Ash, 41-years-old, succumbed to injuries suffered in the crash.

Ice conditions remain sturdy despite temperature fluctuation

Temperatures are dropping rapidly which means ice fishing is on the horizon for Day County residents and South Dakotans alike. Game, Fish and Parks District Supervisor Tim McCurdy said the ice conditions are varying across locations, but remain in good status as of Dec. 10.

Webster clothing, toy drive illuminates the holiday spirit

Quickly approaching is the holiday season and with this comes the necessity for gifts. On Dec. 6 and 7 Chelsey Wood and Meagan Baumgarn hosted a clothing and toy drive at 708 Main St. and received a plethora of items donated from the community and given out for free.

Doll collection born out of husband’s love

Collecting dolls since she was a little girl, 88 year-old Anna May Carlis has a doll collection created by her late husband Glen and her family which now holds sentimental value to her as the years continue to go by.
Roslyn booster club appreciation day took place Dec. 6 at the Roslyn Center in which a free meal was provided, inflatables for kids were present and Santa made an appearance.
