U.S. Army Corps of Engineers plan to meet to discuss lake flooding issue
Day County has seen a drastic increase in water level within the past 30 years and the issues are starting to get addressed. U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is holding a meeting at the Day County Courthouse June 30 at 1 p.m. to discuss the issues seen and possible options they have to fix them. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers plan to hold a meeting June 30 at 1 p.m. at the Day County Courthouse in Community Room 101. According to Harry Knapp, the meeting will discuss options regarding the flooding issue on Bitter Lake. In Day County, the lake’s water levels have been rising for multiple decades, with the issue really starting to get serious in the early 1990s.
